Take a peek into a wedding from last weekend. If you don’t feel love and happiness, you are dead inside.
I am honored the bride and families trusted me to take care of every detail down to the bouquets. Such a huge feat, I had to ask my co-designer, Tab, to help with centerpieces, garland and the arch. He is beyond FanTabulous!
I only hope I can be there when these lovelies begin having beautiful babies and celebrate and fawn over them as well!
Thank you for letting me be a part of this most beautiful day!
Also, thank you to all of the vendors who put up with me as well!
Hey! My Family made it to the shindig! I spent 2.3 minutes with them though I have to say, my main dude is great with clean up and conversation! I love you! Thank you for sticking with me for 18+ years and my multitude of career changes! xoxo

I was involved with a baby shower recently for someone who used to baby-sit my babies.
Man, time passes so quickly. I can't believe kids I know are no longer kids and are starting to have their own bambinos!
When I get involved, you know I go all out and well, I love doing things that are different than my normal day-to-day jobs.
It started with the invitation:
Boho Baby was the theme.
Coupled with a little Beatles in the mix.
Then I started going a little crazy from there....
I'm helping with another baby shower in May. This time there are more women in charge. I'm not sure they are going to let me be as creative as I want to but then again, I am sure my paying clients will be very glad if I am cut off.
During this time of craziness, it's okay to admit, you aren't okay.

Here's a story, of a beautiful bride and her handsome groom...

The beauty of calligraphy is you can add a signature touch or what designers in the industry like to call "branding" to your special day. These personalized cups, napkins and matches match the Save-the-Date invite sent out a few months ago and will also match the upcoming wedding invitation going out soon. Stay tuned for the wedding upcoming wedding invitation!!!
Like most families, our family is missing quite a bit of loved ones. I made a wood sign for a bride who is planning her upcoming vows with this thought in mind. Even though we can't see them, they are there in spirit.
Hot Mess here at a reception!!!! Well, I AM a mess and this was a reception for a friend's daughter and I DID DO this chalkboard HOURS before the party began. and I WAS super hot because I'm peri-menopausal....
I have to say, doing chalkboards for a friend is WAAAYYY more stressful than writing stuff out for strangers or for people I haven't had a 25 year relationship with.....
A bride I recently worked with created a unique way to present her place cards.
I created the white place card with a bone folder then wrote with black ink in a Copperplate font on the lower portion of the card. She followed up with a red wax seal incorporating her soon-to-be initial on the top of the card.
A beautiful and elegant way to do a place card or escort card for your occasion!
Love, LOVE, LOOOVVVEEEE! This bride and mother!
I can't believe it's been over two...three? months? since this event occurred!
I asked the mother of the bride if I could be an honorary member of the family. THIS! is how much I loved working with them. and you know what? They SMILED AND LAUGHED! ALL OF THE TIME!!!! Who does this anymore? They did! Love all around. Especially between the mother and daughter.
Reminds me of my mother and our relationship. Just the two of us. Always having each other's back.
The genuine enthusiasm was contagious and made me want to do the best work I could to make them happy. I do hope I succeeded.
A super fabulous designer friend of mine, Rachel Singleton, referred me to Whitney English to help out with a dinner for Alt Summit this week.
I was beyond thrilled as I admire both of them so much! The kindness and warmest responses ensued from this fun venture. Simply, I don't think I've ever been thanked as much for anything I've produced as I have for this dinner party.
Rarely does one get to see the finished product unless it is for print. Half the time I stumble upon something I've done by total accident. I find the calligrapher is the last to be thanked or acknowledged when everything is said and done.
To me, when I create anything/something, it is simply unfinished as I am not quite sure how or where it went for it's final resting place.
Today, I was happy to find my little "works of art" found a happy place.
I've had a personal blog for years. Back when everyone had one. Before the kids were in school and before I thought I would be held accountable for every word I typed. Man, times have changed and the content and readership changed as well. As with most of us 'old-timer's,' we have faded out the writing and daily musing for carpool, dance classes and well, Netflix binge watching.
One such reader I want to be when I grow up, has followed me through all of my ups and downs and in-betweens. She has always commented on my calligraphy I've put on my personal blog, Twitter and Instagram. If only she had an occasion to use my services......
One such occasion finally occurred! Her Ten Year Anniversary!
I had such a great time hand designing and illustrating her personal invites as well as addressing these cute and fun black envelopes. White ink on thick black envelopes with a laurel design added EVERYWHERE!
The only downside to this project? Forgetting to think about the size of the envelope in relation to postage. Square envelopes and odd sized envelopes add extra cost to your already expanding budget of an invitation. Always keep this in mind when you are calculating your cost estimation for invitations.
I always love trying something new and mixing letters and fonts for a fun result.
A friend of mine asked me to produce a large piece capturing a beautiful poem written by her young son before Christmas.
As you can see, I am in the early stages of laying out the wording and different fonts used.
